Why the Crane

By Susan F. Filan, Esq. | The Wake-Up Call Coach™

The Crane is an ancient ally who knows there is power in stillness, and truth in grace.

In one of Aesop’s fables, a thirsty crane drops stones into a tall, narrow vessel—one by one—until the water rises to meet its beak. It doesn't force. It doesn't fight. It solves the problem with patience, wisdom, and grace.

Cranes are known for their stillness, precision, and power. They don’t waste energy on unnecessary battles. They rise with quiet strength and choose discernment over noise.

Across cultures, the Crane symbolizes freedom, honor, and spiritual insight. It is a messenger of good things to come—a sign of higher perspective, clarity, and elevation.

To walk with the Crane is to rise with purpose.

Dignified. Strategic. Awake.

The Crane reminds us: We don’t need to force our way forward.

We rise by becoming who we were meant to be.
